Animal Resorts was the first daycare established with the Pa Department of Agriculture in 1996 when there were no such things as doggie daycares.  We helped change the pet industry along with the state dog laws too.

We also have been innovators of healthier facilities as we were the first to require shots be current or given at least 14 days prior to entrance into our facility. At that time there was a lot of backlash from pet owners and Veterinarians over this.  Vaccine producers claimed instant immunization and vets agreed.  We on the other hand knew from experience that the dogs that ended up sick in our kennel were usuallythe ones vaccinated on their way.  So we started the 14 day minimum and would pass on the profit of losing a booking.  A silver lining from the covid experience was that people learned or understood why we were doing what we had been doing by making them wait a couple weeks after being vaccinated! 

Maybe we weren't the first to charge more for Peak times as human hospitality industry had been doing this forever, but we were for pets. We were looking for a way to keep the prices down for our weekday business travelers when demand wasn't as great so we enacted charging more on the weekends, holidays and other peak periods to accomplish this.

Another of our firsts was doing activities for pets like children. Activities like hikes swims playtimes group play massages and so on.

We also have our own chickens, ducks, turkeys, and goats to make some delicious homemade meals they cant get anywhere else.
