Training

The best way to build a mutual friendship with your pet is through obedience training. It's a way to communicate with each other; show patience and respect while developing and teaching your pet the "house rules" as well as those of their environment. And the greatest reward of obedience training is freedom to enjoy the good things in life whenever and wherever together.

Key Benefits of Training

  • Bond and build a lifelong friendship with your pet
  • Freedom for you and your pet
  • You will learn how to train and handle your dog as well as other dogs

The style of training we use most is operate conditioning with a lot of motivation. We use a 5' leather lead, training collar, a lot of heart and soul. Rarely do we use treats except for parlor tricks and imprinting on young pups. Your praise and play is what we use as a reward. This style of training, we believe to be the most effective in real life, day to day situations with your pet.

Our trainers are certified in these fields - Basic and Advanced Obedience, Utility and Retrieval, Personal Protection, Police K-9, Tracking, Scent Discrimination and Canine Behavior.  This is their full time profession, you get what you pay for.

We offer Private Lessons (great for previously trained dogs or very experienced dog owners), Workouts (great for very basics, exercise, and confidence building), and Training Camps. We found the last to have the highest success rate. It takes a professional trainer 5 full days to teach what the average owner would attempt to teach in 6 weeks and usually not accomplish. There are many reasons for this: the most obvious a professional trainer knows all the little tricks, a pro is more consistent in all aspects of training, pet can progress very quickly as a professional trainer knows when the pet understands commands verses wondering if pet and owner really practiced last week and understand the command, and still another is the atmosphere here is perfect for training. The Camps or residency programs include boarding, bath, and demo of your dog. Also when you pick up an extended lesson of 2 hours is required (this is the most important lesson, so everyone who handles the dog should come).  Depending on which program you choose any number of private follow up lessons are included to now train you. The camps range from 3 days to 21 days.  All programs are designed to meet your needs and to fit your budget.  Programs can be combined at later dates to receive discounts.  We ask that 50% of the training cost be paid at the time of booking your dog. With the other 50% paid when you pick your dog up at the end of their stay.
